Kimberley Mackey is a Senior Consultant and Observer Team Leader at MRAG Ltd. She joined MRAG in 2019 after completing her MSci Marine Biology at the University of Southampton. Kimberley is involved in the implementation and management of multiple observer programmes, with notable experience including Project Management of the Falkland Islands Marine Mammal Observer Programme for the Loligo squid fishery, an REM project for Scottish Power Renewables, the Albacore Domestic Observer Project, and the St Helena VMS Project, and Alternate Manager for the multiple Illex Jigger Safety Advisor (JSA) programmes.
Kimberley has supported the implementation of the BIOT, CCAMLR Krill and Toothfish programmes for the past six years, and has been extensively involved in the technical, administrative and logistical aspects of the IOTC and ICCAT Transhipment ROPs and ICCAT BFT-ROP (Bluefin tuna – Regional Observer Programme) for the same period. This work has involved travel to Spain, Croatia, and the Falkland Islands for the delivery of training, briefing and debriefing of multiple programmes, and meeting with various stakeholders. Kimberley also conducts literature reviews and stakeholder engagement for various MRAG projects and has worked on key relevant projects such as the Natural England REM project, SPRFMO Accreditation of observer programmes, and REM Data Integration projects.
